I also change my logon screen, and do it quite regularly actually. The utility I use is TweaksLogon [tweaks.com] which automatically compresses the file for you so it fits under the threshold.
Just wanted to say thank you for some very interesting material indeed!
It is an entirely different story and one of the most brilliantly written and intelligent pieces of fiction to come out for young adults in a very long time. There is no good or evil, just shades of grey.
I am Singaporean but travel to Hainan frequently. Apart from the use of chicken fat in the rice the Hainanese chicken rice from Hainan is quite unlike the version from Singapore which, to my tastebuds at least, has better colour, flavour and texture than the original from which it is derived.
Two. Phone and Kindle. A laptop features only if I need one when I'm away.
Get a pair of Bluetooth speakers, fire up the WiFi and use it as a stand alone (and mobile about the house at least) internet radio and podcast downloader.
5 computers: 2 media centers in the living room and kitchen, 1 desktop for heavy lifting, 1 netbook for couch surfing, 1 notebook for actual work on the go.
@Archnemesis_Goldenhair: totally agree with origami.com - has the really simple to the really, really difficult pieces requiring squares of paper 20" across!
A PC which is both "discrete" and "discreet"!
I repurposed an old Qtek S100 (HTC Magician) into an internet radio with software some time back. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 SE and worked really well for a while. Now replaced by another multifunction device, a Nokia N800. [spuriousstarlight.blogspot.com]
Sony does make amazing computers. I still have my Sony Picturebook PCG-C1X. Yes, it runs Windows 98, but even today the design still turns heads.
@illn00b: Thank you so much. More seeds people!
@cv: Entirely agree. Open Office and the GIMP are essential. And I'd include Inkscape, Audacity, Tweetdeck and Mozilla Prism.
On my phone I switch between Opera Mobile (for compliance) and Pocket IE (for speed). It really depends on which site I'm visiting.
@devwar: @tonyx3: I'm really glad you pointed it out, because while there are loads of things I couldn't care less about, I could care less about the wanton massacre of that phrase.
It is a bit of a surprise (but a welcome one at that) that Windows Live for Windows Mobile has Messenger included. They have some kind of agreement with Orange here in the U.K. where if you use the Orange branded version of Messenger for IM, they can charge you for every single message you send, rather than have it counted as a negligible part of your data package.

The pictures you have to accompany the piece are wrong by the way. They illustrate how Windows Live looks on any WAP-enabled phone. The Windows Live version is native and integrated with Outlook on your phone so it can sync contacts and mail (free push mail is the one reason I have stuck with Hotmail all this time). The new addition with this install is Live Spaces for photo uploads, which I don't use anyway.

@thelouisguy: This also works very well with any modern web browser, so it functions superbly in Opera Mobile 9.5 (for most Windows mobile phones) as well as the browser in the Nokia Internet Tablets. Indeed with the gorgeous 800x480 displays of my Touch HD and the N800 reading books really is a pleasure.
Fantastic phone - speedy, stable and works so well. I'm rocking the NRG Rose Rom v1.7. Utterly transformed the device from stock, and includes the weather sliding panel.
We really "couldn't" care less.
@nitrous9200: @cardyology: The MIS Wind PC is available in the U.K., as is the unrebadged MSI Wind.
