But now his creators have started a company—BeatBots—to manufacture clones of the little guy. Keepon Pro will be the first product, weighing in with a hefty price tag of about $30,000, and it'll be aimed at research institutions for the purposes of investigating human-robot interactions. Fret not at that price, though: the company plans to simplify the mechanism and release a version with a cheaper price tag. And if you're wondering what kind of human-robot interactions Keepon can do, click below to see a vid of him in action.

I, for one, can't wait to get my mitts on one. [GetRobo]

<![CDATA[ Dancing Keepon Robot Teaches Author How To Love ]]> Remember cute Keepon, the little robot that's part Muppet, part dancing dynamo? He's back, teaching Daniel H. Wilson, author of How To Build a Robot Army, how to stop worrying and embrace cybernetics. Now that Wilson and Keepon are friends, we're imagining the undefeatable army of Keepons that will result: every opponent would compulsively drop his weapon and start to disco gently on the spot. At least, that's what we'd do. [Keepon at Carnegie Mellon]

<![CDATA[ Keepon Robot Keeps on Keepin' On in Spoon Promo ]]> Austin band Spoon have collaborated before with yellow robot Keepon, but their new video, for "Don't You Evah" gives us a little more than the first one. Keepon's creator, Hideki Kozima, costars alongside the little blob of sunshine, and there's a whole load of robot cameos toward the end.

If you want more of the same thing, only live, Keepon and Spoon will be making an appearance on September 10 at the Henry Fonda Theater in LA, kicking off Wired's NextFest fair. [YouTube via Creative Commons]
