Retinal Imaging Display Glasses Make Terminator Vision Possible
Japan-based Brother Industries has created a wearable, portable version of its retinal imaging display (RID) technology, which gives people the chance to see things Terminator-style. How is this different than other HUD glasses we've seen? The new RID prototype attaches to a basic set of spectacles and works by focusing light onto the retina, moving it at high speeds to generate images that look like they exist right in front of the user. Spy Drones Coming Soon to the US, AT-ST Walkers to Follow Next
Reuters is reporting that the Miami-Dade police department will "soon" start deployment of the infamous Honeywell Micro Air Vehicles, the spy drones that will keep all you criminals and Gizmodo editors in check with forward and downward looking cameras, flying over a 100 waypoint flight plan at 57MPH, and from 10,500-foot altitude. Seeing them hovering over the skies is kind of menacing. Actually, with the right music, it's downright scary.

Miami Cops to Use Spy Drones for SWAT Team Ops
Drones like the one you see in the video above might soon be used by the Miami Police Department, serving as an unmanned eye-in-the-sky that can go places where it's too dangerous for human beings to tread. Expected to be rolled out next year first in SWAT team operations, the 14 lb. vehicle is unarmed but can fly just about anywhere, and even goes up to altitudes of 10,500 feet. These particular craft were first tested by Honeywell early last year, and now the FAA has given Miami and Houston permission to use them in their busy airspaces. New Mall Camera System Can Guess Your Age, Gender, and Class
Soon, when you go to the mall, the jerks who work in the stores won't be the only ones judging you based on your appearance. A new $19,000 camera system currently being tested in Japan purports to be able to guess your gender, age, and even your social class merely by appearance. It determines this by comparing how you look to pictures of people who are already accurately profiled in the system. The system doesn't record or store the images, but it's still pretty damned creepy. Think of it as judging a book by its cover made as scientific as possible. Boy, that's awesome. Then, ensuring that There Is No Escape For The Wicked, it can compare them to ones on a "hot list" stored on its internal 20GB hard drive.
